“Orphan” is about a husband and wife, John and Kate (played by Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga) who are looking to adopt a child. Awhile back Kate had a miscarriage and now both of them are looking to move on and start fresh. That’s when they go to the Orphanage and find Esther (played by Isabelle Fuhrman) painting quietly in another room, instead of playing with all of the other children. So Kate and John decide that Esther being with her much more mature essence would be the right choice for them to accept into their family as their own. As she meets their other two children Daniel (played by Jimmy Bennett) the older brother and his little sister Max (played by Aryana Engineer) who is deaf, Daniel doesn’t like Esther from the moment he sees her, but Max takes to her liking. As Esther gets settled in Kate notices that there are weird habits that she has, like locking the doors, never letting anyone take off her little necklace and wrist wraps. Oddly enough the orphanage cannot find any of Esther’s files in their system, so Kate does some research and comes to a shocking discovery of who Esther really is and where she actually came from. Fear rises inside of Kate and it is up to her to protect her family from the dangers of Esther.
